Performance Expectation
The students will gain an understanding of the importance of safety and effective communication as they participate in a communication exercise and learn the safety rules and regulations for the class and equipment. The students will understand the expectation of the class
Learning Objectives:
Identify the expectations of the class.
List the safety rules for the equipment and lab.
Identify potential hazards in the lab.
Activity Procedures:
COMPUTER LAB SAFETY RULES
Computers
1. Do not insert pencils or other implements in floppy disk drives, to avoid damage to the drives.5. Do not throw the computer mouse around.
6. Log off the computer when the bell rings.Monitors
1. Do not attempt to repair the monitor. Most manufacturers advise repair by authorized service technicians only.4. Do not leave fingerprints on the screen. Keep the screen clear of dust. Use only a soft cloth for cleaning the screen.
Classroom safety
1. Be aware of power equipment under the table and near the teacher's desk.
2. Do not open file cabinet or file drawers.
3. Do not go behind the teacher's desk.
4. Place all backpacks underneath your chairs.
5. When class is over, push all chairs under the table.
6. Do not run or play within the classroom.INTERNET SAFETY RULES
The student will:
ü Never turn their backs or leave their computers.
ü Never give out address, phone number or full name.ü Never copy text, pictures, or sound from the internet unless permission from the site is granted.
Passes the safety test with a 100
