Digital Scavenger Hunt Rules

Session 1- Brainstorming, Strategy and Photography (1 hour)

Rules of The Hunt

·        remain with team at all times

·        no loud voices or dangerous running

·        brainstorm ideas for your list to save you time

·        assign a team member to keep track of time on a watch or school clock

·        everyone on the team gets a chance to take pictures
turn the camera off between pictures to conserve battery

·        do NOT take time to look at each picture
plan where you will go so you can take all pictures in one area at once to save time

·        take pictures of as many of the items on the list as you can

·        do NOT ask anyone but teammates what each item might be

·        do not disturb any adult who is with students

·        do not knock on any doors

·        team is due back at the time designated; late teams will lose a point a minute

·        NO more pictures can be taken once time is up

·        choose one person on the team who's folder will store the pictures

·        report any problems with team members or cameras to the teacher at once

Session 2- Creating a Slideshow

team members take turns inserting pictures into a Movie Maker Presentation

one picture and caption to a slide
pictures should be displayed in slideshow in list order
caption should explain how picture meets list requirements
complete sentences are not required but correct spelling is
spellcheck and save into the same team member's folder
one class period only allowed for creating the slideshow

Session 3- Presentation and Assessment

We will view each slideshow. Each item found and correctly captioned will be worth one point. An item that meets the criteria but which no other team thought of, is worth two points. You will have the opportunity to politely challenge any graphic or caption.

Team with the most points wins!

Digital Scavenger Hunt List
